SummaryClearing locks left by other users who opened the file.
Symptoms
When estimate is saved error message "That File Name exists and is locked by another user" comes up and estimate does not save.

Cause
Another user on another workstation accessed the file in question previously and the lock was not cleared when the file was closed or the file is still open on the other workstation.
Resolution
  1. Close out of TruckEst on all other computers to release lock on estimate in question.
  2. Test saving again, if problem continues go on to step 3.
  3. Temporarily save to a different file name to avoid re-writing the estimate.
  4. Verify TruckEst is closed on all computers
  5. On Server Machine go to Control Panel.
  6. Click Administrative Tools.
  7. Double click Computer management.
  8. Under System Tools expand Shared Folders.
  9. Click Open Files.
  10. Enlarge open file column size by dragging the edge of the column left until you can read the full file names.
  11. Highlight TruckEst related files.
  12. Right Click on highlighted files and click on Close Open File.
  13. Open the estimate saved under temporary file name.
  14. Save the estimate under the correct file name.
